Apply Pesticides according to the Code of Practice

Whether you would like to refresh your current skills or gain new ones, this course is the one for you.

Taking our Pesticide Applications course will demonstrate competence in the safe handling and spraying of pesticides, as well as instilling the confidence in both the candidate and their employer to operate safely.

Entry Requirements

There are no entry requirements although please note the course lengths according to experience.

This course is available in different formats as below and can be delivered on your premises with your equipment or here at Civil Skills Plus:  You must complete PA1 plus at least one application module to gain a certificate, except Grandfather Rights option is a standalone.

  • PA1 Safe Handling and Storage of Chemicals
  • PA2 Boom Sprayer Applications
  • PA4 Slug Pelleter
  • PA6 Hand Held Sprayer Applications
  • Grandfather Rights – If eligible (Born before 31st December 1964)

Course Duration

  • 1 Day per module – Novice Operator
  • 0.5 Day per module – Experienced Operator
  • 1 Day Grandfather Rights

Assessment and exams:

You will be assessed through both theory and practical tests on a separate day through NPTC, support will be given to apply for tests.

Qualifications/certification:

When you have successfully completed the course you will be awarded a City & Guilds NPTC Level 2 Award in Safe Use of Pesticides.
